I've been having a pretty rough last couple of days. The stress of the holidays is really hard on me, as it is a LOT of other people. I feel fortunate though because I am just about DONE with my Christmas shopping- most of it was done online so I didn't have to jostle with a lot of other people, (which is great because my immune system can't handle "teh sick" again) and I don't very much like crowds...
So! Making something Friday night and yesterday was ROUGH.
Regardless, I did make a couple of things that are worth sharing. :) Go me for managing to pull through the mental ick!
The first thing I made was Thursday, and it's one of my signature Waterfall Necklaces (with a matching pair of earrings, woo!)...
You can see one of my new hoarded beads, (it came in a set of 10!), front and center. It has the swirly on it and is a lovely blue/purple color. I got it from one of Lori's destashes, and is made by, *drumroll please*, Maryse Fritzsch-Thillens of Glass Bead Art!
You can see lots of Swarovski, glass pearls, a leather bead, some high quality China crystal, a blue chalcedony briolette, and some glass beads. Next to no stones, which is VERY unusual for me... and only glass pearls, no real ones, which is also very rare.
Here's another view... It sure turned out well! :) I'm very pleased!
On to Friday night's project, (just before the deadline!)-
The hoarded goods used in this necklace are Michelle McCarthy's/Firefly Design Studio Owl Pendant (with included dangles), and some lovely Czech glass beads in silver & clear...
I made matching earrings for this set too...
Here is the whole necklace + earrings! I used more faceted China glass in two shapes of teal, some sea sediment turquoise type of stuff in ovals near the owl, silver seed beads, teal triangle seed beads, Michelle's lovely owl, and the Czech glass silver/clear beads. It's another blue necklace and earring set! LOL!
Thanks for reading and hopping! I hope you enjoy looking at what I made for the blog hop. :)

Love the soft blue of the first one. Reminds me of the crisp, cool blue sky of winter. And the owl piece is just plain CUTE!
ReplyDeleteOh those blues in the waterfall necklace are so soothing and sparkle with the feeling of winter. It did turn out well, I can see why you are pleased. Enjoy wearing your new creations.
ReplyDeleteEven if they were last minute creations, they turned out lovely! The waterfall necklace is especially gorgeous. :)
ReplyDeleteIm so sorry that you've been having a rough time. I love the waterfall set in particular !
ReplyDeleteLovely shades of blues... great job even tho you were not feeling well.
ReplyDeleteI love owls so the owl necklace is a favorite of mine. Your waterfall necklace is gorgeous. Well done!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and brilliant designs! Love the teal-ly blue color palate too.
ReplyDeleteLovely blues!
ReplyDeleteBoth necklaces are fantastic. You were especially productive even considering not feeling great. Beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteGloriousl
ReplyDeleteReally pretty! Love that little owl focal.
ReplyDeleteReally like the texture on that first piece.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the owl! It really pulls it all together!
ReplyDeleteAnd I am totally with you on shopping online. I don't think I went but to one store (the Apple store) because I was clueless. Now all I have to wrap everything!

Your signature waterfall necklace is so beautiful, I absolutely love the colors and the design, and the owl set is so cute!
ReplyDeleteHi Andrea, Both of your designs are wonderful. Great color choices.
ReplyDeleteAndrea, I love your color story and designs .
ReplyDeleteOh I love Michelle's beads! Your necklace is so pretty. Wear it in peace and health during the holidays.
ReplyDeleteNice designs! I love your waterfall design (and your beautiful hoarded bead). And the owl pendant is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty designs. The waterfall necklace has so many interesting bits to it. Very pretty color pallet.
ReplyDeleteI adore that little owl in your second necklace he's too cute for words!
Lovely pieces, especially the owl necklace. I'm sorry you have had some rough times. Hopefully Christmas will be wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI'm STILL hoarding my Firefly Design studios beads >.< lol I had originally planned on using them, but my muses had other treasures in mind, I guess ;) Both sets are beautiful :) I'm partial to the waterfall one, due to the fact my fave necklace I've ever made was made in a similar style, only in copper and pearls.. and yours is in blues and silvers .. more fave colours! lol
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shades of blue, Andrea! Great necklaces but the first one is my fave. I love how you combined everything into a very pretty whole. I'm sorry that you're having a rough time with the holiday stress. I think we all pile much too much expectation on the holidays and that prevents us from just enjoying it. It's one of those things you start to realize in the "golden years" as every day becomes a joy to savour.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful designs! I am really not sure which one I like the most as they are both ones I would love to own.
ReplyDeleteBoth of your necklaces are wonderful!!! I love the colors and that owl is to die for!!! Really fun designs!! Have a Blessed Day!
