I should explain about this song, shouldn't I? This is the song I *always* think of when I think of my first (serious) boyfriend. It was first released in 1994... and re-released in 1995 as one of the Batman Forever soundtracks. I'm not entirely sure why the song reminds of him, except that it was probably played a lot on the radio while we were dating and afterwards. Plus, the lyrics are awesome! :) Here's a link to the lyric sheet, (CLICK!).
So, of course, my submission had to have a Love theme, or have a rose... luckily I had beads (or could make them!) to cover both bases.
I made three lovely polymer clay roses... I've only used this one so far for this challenge. (In progress photo).
Here's the finished necklace! It uses my polymer clay rose, Czech glass hearts, faceted china glass(?) rondelles, and white freshwater pearls along with copper wire and findings... I galaxy wrapped the freshwater pearls. (I'm hoping to get some better pictures tomorrow!)
Here's the "Galaxy Wrap" up close. Isn't it cool? :)
And here's the necklace in natural light! I think the green mat washed out the red color some... I'll have to try another picture, yes, tomorrow! LOL!

It's just beautiful and sweet as a first love should be.
ReplyDelete'You became the light on the dark side of me' - I love that line! I think this is a classic song. And a great one for young love to share! I love the idea of a 'galaxy wrap' - I have never heard that term and it seems so elegant. Beautiful necklace. Thank you for joining me in the 3rd Annual Challenge of Music. Enjoy the day! Erin
ReplyDeleteA very pretty and romantic necklace! I think Shaiha put it the best already. A challenge well done.
ReplyDeleteOoooo that is pretty. I really like your choices...red hot!
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how we picked the same song for this challenge and how it can mean so much but have a different interpretation for each of us. Love the design you created.
